Ex-Visa executive takes the chair at Findexable
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Stanley Skoglund as Chairman of Findexable.
Stanley is an acknowledged leader in the global payments industry with over 20 years’ experience, and has held executive and board roles in several European and US financial services companies, primarily Visa International and Visa Europe. Stanley has broad experience in technology, commercial, governance and regulatory risk in all the verticals in the payments eco-system.
In 2007 Stanley was appointed Senior Vice President of Payment System & Enterprise Risk at Visa Europe (with transactions of EUR 1.9 trillion in 2014). In this role he oversaw Visa Europe’s risk and compliance strategy and policies in its markets and gained significant insight into the financial, interoperability and technological dynamics driving the risk and compliance agendas in the industry.
In 2013, Stanley was appointed Chief Risk Officer of Credorax Inc. Group and CEO & Board Director of their Malta based European subsidiary. Credorax is a global financial services company based in Southborough, MA, USA. In Malta, Stanley helped build up an award-winning acquiring business, processing transasctions of $1.3bn in 2014, and generating operating revenues of $25m. Keys functions included risk, legal, credit risk, profitability modelling and sales support capabilities for the European markets as well as the Asia Pacific & North America operations. Stanley left Credorax in March 2015.
Stanley also takes a keen interest in organisational and leadership development issues and has also developed a coaching and leadership practice which draws on his own extensive leadership experience as well as on solid academic research.
He is currently advising a large payments company on franchise and operating model development and he is also involved in advising smaller SMEs and start-ups in Europe.
Stanley holds a post-graduate research degree in organizational sociology at the University of Oslo and an MSc in Organizational Change & Consulting from Ashridge Business School. He is based in Oxford, UK.
Commenting on his role, Stanley points out, “The ambition we have with the Global Fintech Index makes me curious and hopeful that the role I can play will help us address issues close to my heart – diversity, gender parity and financial inclusion – to make these issues as much a part of business-as-usual as other issues such as how much inward investments there are in a given region year on year. For me it would be really helpful to create an index that has broader relevance, speaks to a broader audience and make visible that those variables that represent reality are as important as financial metrics in decision making and how we view trends in society.
The Global Fintech Index by Findexable launches worldwide on 4 December 2019
